The world class Lang Walker AO Medical Research Building is being delivered in partnership with the Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Research, Western Sydney University, UNSW Sydney and the South Western Sydney Local Health District. The facility will bring together world leading researchers and clinicians across many disciplines.

The five-storey building will be of cutting edge design and a cornerstone of the multi-million dollar redevelopment of Campbelltown Hospital and the broader CHEP.

The new facility, to be completed in 2024, will be home to the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research Macarthur and will be a critical enabler for delivering locally focused health research outcomes for the population of south western Sydney.

The building will be located between, and connected into, WSU’s Macarthur Clinical School and Campbelltown Hospital. It will reflect clinical linkages between research and clinical settings, and precinct linkages between the hospital and clinical school.

Through the Ingham Institute, it will deliver world class research and health outcomes not just for the Macarthur region, but also the wider community. It will facilitate scientific, clinical and industry collaboration and enable bench to bedside research translation to deliver novel programs, diagnostics and therapies across a range of research areas.
